Directions to Pirate Canoe Club...

From the North - Take Route 9 South through Poughkeepsie past the Mid-Hudson Bridge or if crossing the bridge, just head south on 9. After 2 nd Traffic Light ( Samuel F.B. Morse Home will be on your right at this light.) begin to watch for the Marriott Court Yard Hotel on your right. Immediately after the Marriott Courtyard Hotel, make the next right turn. There will be an unlit sign for Rivercrest East Apartments. (There is no Sign for the Pirate Canoe Club.) This turn will be before the Coyote Grille and the Econolodge Motel. Travel down to the bottom of the hill passing the Apartments and you will come to a double set of train tracks. Pirate Canoe Club will be in front of you straight across the tracks. Please! Take great care while crossing the Metro North train tracks! Look both ways and if a train is coming wait. After it passes, look again. Trains sometimes come from both ways and cross here.


From the South - Take Route 9 North towards Poughkeepsie. You will pass IBM, several small shopping malls, an Econolodge Motel on the left, Coyote Grille and a Marriott Courtyard Hotel both also on the left at which time you must move into the left Lane. At the first light after the Marriott Courtyard Hotel ( Beechwood Ave. ) make a U-turn. There is a light there to make this possible. This will be approximately 11 miles North of Route 84. You will now be going South on Route 9. Immediately after the Marriott Courtyard Hotel make the next right turn. There will be an unlit sign for Rivercrest East Apartments at the right turn. (There is no sign for the Pirate Canoe Club) This turn will be before the Coyote Grille and the Econolodge Motel. Car access - from Route 9 Southbound only, east of the Hudson River and south of the City of Poughkeepsie
 
 
 

Access by boat - the club is on the east shore of the Hudson River, there is dock space on the outside of the North and South docks, but only for members of a club in the Hudson River Boat & Yacht Club Association or the Mohawk Hudson Council of Yacht Clubs
